BALTIMORE (January 22, 2020) – Lux Daze Media today announced the official release of its latest short film, “Summer Hill,” from writer and director Tyler C. Peterson. The film is now available to stream exclusively on Prime Video in the US and UK.
The film stars Aryamar Colon-Pappaterra, Molly Cohen, Griffin DeLisle, and Nicole Sliwka as teenagers in Summer Hill, a rural town in Maryland as they are confronted by the not-so-charming realities of their hometown on the eve of its annual beauty pageant.
“In popular media, small town life is often portrayed as charming and picturesque; however, in Summer Hill, I wanted to subvert this,” said Peterson, writer and director of “Summer Hill.” “I examined several problematic undercurrents that reflect my time growing up in a rural, conservative town, and specifically how it affects the lives of the minority youth trapped within its confines.”
The global release follows the film’s debut at the sold-out inaugural Lux Daze Media Showcase in 2019. “Summer Hill” has received numerous accolades since the debut, winning “Best Narrative Short” at the North Beach American Film Festival 2019 and “Audience Choice, Narrative Short” at the Cecil County Film Festival 2019.
